The
Western Upper Peninsula Substance Abuse
Services Coordinating Agency, Inc. (WUPSASCA)
was designated as the regional administrative
office of substance abuse services in the
following counties of Michigan's Upper
Peninsula - Baraga, Gogebic, Houghton,
Keweenaw, Dickinson, Iron, and Ontonagon
counties.
Responsibilities
include the development of a comprehensive plan
to address the substance abuse service needs within
its jurisdiction; contracting for substance abuse
prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services;
reviewing licence applications by treatment providers;
serving as a clearinghouse for client service
data; and developing and submitting budget requests,
as well as financial reports to MDCH/ODCP.
